“if the world should end” from spider-man, turn off the dark.
posting because of ella’s obsession with jenn damiano. this is my recording, so pleeease don’t go ripping it, reposting it, or posting a link my post someplace other than tumblr. listen and reblog to your heart’s desire…but don’t make me regret posting it, darlings, and enjoyyy. :)
Jennifer Damiano
Actress Jennifer Damiano at my place yesterday. Miss Damiano is about to open on Broadway as Mary Jane Watson in Julie Taymor’s SPIDERMAN;TURN OFF THE DARK.
The Song of Purple Summer, as performed by Jennifer Damiano
Behind the scenes: Jenn in “The Wizard of Oz”, 2004
Next to Normal in Playbill’s 2009 “Broadway Yearbook”
Correspondent: Adam Chanler-Berat, “Henry”
Memorable Opening Night Message: An Al Hirschfeld-esque cartoon of the cast and the creative team given as a gift by two lovely women, Rita Kitt (Tom Kitt’s wife) and Laura Pietropinto (Assisant Director) - they are sisters, by the way!
Memorable Opening Night Gifts: It’s a tie between Sally (one of our assistant stage managers)’s cookies and beautiful framed sheet music from Tom and Brian (our writers).
Most Exciting Celebrity Visitors: Out of who’s come so far…Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban were out in the audience crying their eyes out! They sent a beautiful bouquet of flowers with a note confirming that they had in fact cried through pretty much all of Act II. Wooohooo!!! That’s a good thing here at Next to Normal.
Who Got the Gypsy Robe: We don’t have an ensemble; there are only six of us here. So we participated in a new tradition called “break a leg.” In this tradition, on opening night, the youngest member of the company breaks a prosthetic leg on the set. Jenn had trouble breaking it. Her face got really red.
